Support OUR troopsHow to Get Involved with Aristasia

You have read about the Celestial Empire, and you like the sound of it.

You want to meet Aristasians and talk to them. Perhaps you want to start living an Aristasian life — not necessarily with your whole life, but with some part of it.

In any case, you want to visit the Motherland.

Things have changed very much recently. Until a short time ago, unless you were in an area near to an Aristasian District, this was more or less impossible. You could write missives at the Club and at Girls' Town, but real participation involved visiting an Aristasian Embassy or household.

Since the launch of Operation Bridgehead, all that has changed.

The first port of call for all new girls is now Aristasia-in-Virtualia — a burgeoning Virtual Reality in which Aristasia is building schools, kinemas, places of worship, social venues and all the other things that go to make up a world. Now you can visit Aristasia — and even become a part of it if you wish — without leaving your room.

Does this mean that there will be no more Aristasian Districts “on the ground”? Certainly not. In fact we expect Aristasia-in-Virtualia eventually to “seed” real-life communities all over the world. But Virtualia will be the starting-point for all new Aristasians — even those who are near a “planetside” District.

A Gathering at the Embassy

In Virtualia, we get to know you and you get to know us. And we all get to decide whether to proceed. Some people, for a variety of reasons, may choose to restrict their Aristasian life to Virtualia. Others, as time passes, may become involved with Aristasian meetings, conferences, retreats and District life. But Virtualia is the new Front Portal of Aristasia. It is the place you will come in. It is also the place that will bind individuals and Districts across the world.

So what is Virtualia and how do I get there?

Currently, the main platform for Aristasia-in-Virtualia is a Virtual Reality grid known as Second Life. In this Virtual Territory we have an Embassy, Chapel, Conference Centre and Reception Office and hold events ranging from lectures to kinema showings to firework parties.

It is a place to learn, to meet people and to get the “feel” of Aristasia. Your “avatar”, blonde or brunette, according to your personality type, will represent you, and you can customise it to be the perfect representative of your ideal Aristasian self.

To learn how to get into Second Life and make contact with White Roses — the primary Virtual Aristasian group — Just go to this page. Follow the instructions and you will have made your first step into Virtualia.

What if I can’t get into SL?

There are a variety of reasons you may not be able to get into the Second Life grid immediately. Most people can, but you do need a reasonably modern ordinator and a broadband connexion. You also require a credit card to prove your identity (though this will NOT be charged). You need to be able to install a small programme on your ordinator. All these things may prove difficult for a minority of new Aristasians, especially our younger sisters.

Please don't worry. Aristasia-in-Virtualia is not limited to SL. SL just happens to be our main platform at present.

The simplest way to get started in Virtual Aristasia is to come to the White Rose Room. This is a Virtual Parlour where you may meet and chat with Aristasians. It is very simple to use, and all it requires is a web browser. You do not have to load down or install anything. You can even use it from a school or library. You do not require any form of identification. You can register your name (and you should if you become regular) but you don't have to, and for an absolute newcomer it isn't even recommended.

The White Rose room allows real-time chat — as well as more sophisticated functions like audio for lectures and lessons. However text chat is the basis of it and that is all you need to use.

It takes up very few system resources and we recommend that you drag it off the bottom left corner of your screen until only the input window and the message window are showing and run it in the background while you do other things.

Go and start it now and see how easy it is!

I am still having trouble meeting Aristasians

This can take a little patience just at first. The best way is again the White Rose Room. Even if you are registered at SL you may find it easier just to leave the White Rose Room open. It is small, does not drain resources, and is an excellent way to make first contact, even if only to arrange to meet in SL.

With the White Rose Room, just start the room and pull it off the bottom left corner of your screen until only the text-entry and chat boxes are showing. Just keep it there while you are doing other things. Meeting White Roses is like meeting fairies — they will come tiptoeing by if you are patient and good.

Actually White Roses look in every now and then to see if new girls are present. Naturally they cannot do this all the time. Sometimes the room has a bustling crowd, other times it is empty, but if you keep the room open you should meet someone after a while.

If someone is there already but does not answer you, remember that she may be off in another window checking occasionally. Again, be patient. you will soon start to meet people.

And if you are new, you should keep reading around the site while you wait. The more you understand the better!

Here is the full White Rose Room pulled down so that the advertising panel is off-screen.

Here is the suggested "waiting position". It can also be used for conversation. Most of the window is dragged out of the screen, and only the essential parts are left onscreen. A tiny margin at the side of your working window is enough to monitor for activity.

Ready, Steady — Go!

You are now ready to make your first step into Virtual Aristasia. It could be the most important step of your life — and it couldn't be easier. Please don't be afraid. The Motherland is waiting to welcome you.
